With many years of experience working in the branding space, we began the foundry to complement our design practice. And with several custom typefaces under our belt, we decided to also extend into retail type.
Our type aims to be characterful, distinctive and purposeful, and our licensing broad and accessible. These are the qualities that we ourselves search for when exploring type for projects. Our intention is to create type that both stands out with distinctive character, while meeting the functional needs of the modern branded environment.

We have two key practical values:
01. Simplified, fair licensing
02. Robust language support
We think font licensing has gotten a little complex, so we intentionally keep ours super simple, limiting to two licence types. Our aim is for equitable pricing, to make our fonts accessible, with pricing brackets filtered to the size of the organisation licensing the font. Free trials of the full character set are available to truly test the type against your needs.
Being based in Aotearoa New Zealand, and working within the te reo Māori language, we are deeply familiar with the disappointment of a missing diacritic. Language support (for now limited to Latin-based languages) is a principle focus for us.

Resell
If you are looking to publish a typeface, and think it would fit in our collection, then let’s chat.
Jonathon Hoefler, who’s writing was our introduction to type design. Kris Sowersby, and his team at Klim, creating some of the best letters in the world, with essays that are unmatched. OHno Type, who design incredible type, and generously dispense invaluable knowledge.
This is by no means an exhaustive list, but some other independent foundries we’ve kept going back to over the years in our brand work: 205TF, Colophon (RIP), Dinamo, Displaaay, F37, Grilli Type, Lineto, Luzi, Nuform, Play Type, Sharp, Schick Toikka, and VJ-Type.
